Test, Share, Learn: Overview of all SUSTAIN Online Modules
The consortium developed three online modules (in four languages) for secondary school pupils (age 14 to 16) and their teachers on sustainable landscapes to raise awareness about the urgency to contribute to the local environment. Each module is based on a regional problem, yet developed at a more general topic so pupils in all European countries can use the modules. The online modules include offline - and outside the classroom - activities to combine both formal and informal learning. The module start with lectures and exercises. Subsequently, pupils interview different stakeholders, and perform their own research project. At the end, the pupils and their teacher organize a public event to different stakeholders to present the results of their project. The online modules include materials on academic skills to support both pupils and teachers.
1) Module “Biodiversity and food web structure” is based on decreasing meadow bird populations in the Netherlands,
2) Module “Water management” is based on falling water levels in a lake in Albufera, near Valencia, Spain,
3) Module “bird migration” is based on the illegal trapping and consumption of songbirds in Cyprus.
